The University of Wollongong in Dubai (UOWD) is one of the UAE's oldest and most prestigious universities. Who is eligible to apply to these programs?

Qualified IIHEM students enrolled in the 5-year diploma program who are successfully completing their fourth year and who have a GPA of 3.0.

What degrees do these programs lead to?

UOWD Master of Business with a concentration in Marketing/Management/International Business, or UOWD Master of Business witha concentration in Financial Management.

Are these programs accredited?

Yes.They are accredited by the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Higher Educationand are registered with the Australian TEQSA.

How is the program delivered?

Students will complete the fourth year at IIHEM and the fifth year at UOWD. They will take six courses in the fifth year at the UOWD campus in Dubai or they can take one semester with 2 courses at UOWD Dubai and the second semester with 4 courses at UOW Australia.

Will I be able to transfer credits from IIHEM to UOWD?

Students may transfer 30 IIHEM credits.

Do I get the same UOWD diploma as the one given to graduates from the UOWD campus?

Yes. Upon graduation, students can choose either a degree certificate from UOWD or a degree certificate from the University of Wollongong Australia.

Once I complete my degree, can I take part in the graduation ceremony at UOWD?

Yes.

Can I do more of my program at UOWD?

Yes. You can do this by a simple transfer. You will however have to pay the UOWD tuition whenever you are at the UOWD campus.

What is required to graduate?

A total of 48 credits, out of which 30 are taken at IIHEM and 18 at UOWD.


To get a Master’s degree from UOWD the average grade must be 50% or above.

When are the application deadlines?

Application deadlines for the different semesters are as follows:

When do the semesters start?
  • The Summer Semester starts at the beginning of June,
  • the Fall/Autumn Semester starts in September (IIHEM and UOWD)
  • the Spring Semester starts in January/March (IIHEM/UOWD).
How long are the Master's programs?

Two years (fourth year at IIHEM and fifth year at UOWD).

How many credits are in each program?

A total of 48 credits, out of which 30 are taken at IIHEM and 18 at UOWD.

What is the course load per semester for full-time students?

Three courses each semester.

I am working. Can I attend the program part time?

Yes. You can work and study at the same time, but you need to have your employment hours and course load approved by your UOWD adviser

What are class hours?

Classes at IIHEM are given in the daytime with some classes in the evening. Classes at UOWD are given from 6–9:30 p.m. twice a week.

Am I eligible for scholarship?

Yes, scholarship is for merit students based on their GPA. Students with 'A' (3.5/4) grade will get 15% scholarship and students with 'A+' (3.8/4) will get 25% scholarship.

When can I enroll?

Enrollment in the program takes place in autumn and springsemesters.

What are the admissions requirements for the program?

UOWD Master of Business (Marketing) or Master of Business (Management) or Master of Business (International Business):

  • be enrolled in an IIHEM five-year diploma program,
  • successfully complete four years at IIHEM with a minimum GPA of 3.0,
  • Grade 'C' in ACC 200, MRK 200, MNG 200, MNG 300, ECO 100, ECO 110,
  • Grade 'B' in MNG 465, MNG 480, MRK 430, MRK 460.

UOWD Master of Business (Financial Management):

  • be enrolled in an IIHEM five-year diploma program,
  • successfully complete four years at IIHEM with a minimum GPA of 3.0,
  • Grade 'C' in ACC 200, MRK 200, MNG 200, MNG 300, ECO 100, ECO 110.
  • Grade 'B' in MNG 465, MNG 480, FIN 400, POM 410.
What documents need to be included in my application?

  • The UOWD online application form duly filled out,
  • An official letter issued by IIHEM concerning the student's status,
  • Certified copy of BAC+3 transcripts, diploma and 4th year transcript,
  • Official TOEFL score 550 reported directly to UOWD, or an official IELTS score 6,
  • Current resume or CV,
  • Two letters of recommendation,
  • Copy of passport's first page,
  • Copy of passport's one blank page.
How much do these programs cost?

  • Tuition fees for academic year 2018-2019 are $6,800 per semester for three courses,
  • Total tuition cost of Master's program will be $13,600 for the entire year,
  • Cost of UOWD accommodation is $4000 per semester,
  • Visa and insurance is$1186,
  • Emirates ID is $55,
  • Refundable deposit is $715 and books cost about $40 each,
  • Food and other living charges are between $600 to $700 per month
Who is responsible for getting the visa to UAE?

UOWD will provide the visa to accepted students.

Will I be able to work in the UAE after successfully finishing my program?

Yes, you can stay and work in Dubai.

I am interested! How should I start the process?

  • Student submits an application to the IIHEM Director of International Programs (DoIP),
  • Once the application is deemed receivable by IIHEM, student meets with the DoIP to discuss and receive approval of your program of study at UOWD,
  • Student submits application to UOWD with IIHEM endorsement,
  • UOWD arranges for an online application interview with a UOWD admissions officer
  • UOWD informs IIHEM and the student of the admissions decision,
  • On admission, the student pay their tuition fees for the first semester,
  • Upon reception of tuition fees, UOWD prepares the visa documents for candidates,
  • UOWD posts the visa documents and paper admission notice to candidates,
  • Candidates receive the visa from UOWD and plan their trip!
